I just got my tooth pulled out but why do I feel so empty inside like a part of me is missing. Somehow I still felt it's present and that made me miss it even more. 
The pain of parting made me regret ever rejecting it in the first place. My gum is still swollen and now started bleeding again, but it is only the small prize I have to pay and it's nothing compared to the pain in my heart.
This is the melancholy of parting.
